Philippians

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: – Philippians 1:6

Chapter 1

Paul thanks the Philippians for their gift and explains that his time in prison has been positive because it has made more converts and has given other believers confidence to continue to spread the gospel.

Chapter 2

Paul briefly summarizes Jesus’ life and spiritual growth and uses that as the basis for the Philippians’ continued faithfulness until Paul is able to visit them again.

Chapter 3

Paul recounts his religious qualifications, but counts all of that as loss in comparison to the spiritual growth in christ that he and the Philippians are striving for.

Chapter 4

Paul encourages the Philippians to remain faithful, trust in God for all their needs and to thank them again for their support. He reminds then that God will bless them for their work.
