James

Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. – Jam.3:13

Chapter 1

James opens his letter with several foundational ideas, life is short, there will be temptations but they don’t come from God, anyone who is a believer will not only hear the word, but act accordingly.

Chapter 2

Using the example of how different people in a group are treated based on their perceived benefit James condemns respect of persons thoughts. It is faith that saves, but faith without works is dead.

Chapter 3

James explains that our tongue is small, but it can be devastating when uncontrolled. Our words and conversation should be edifying to others.

James deals with the multitude of problems caused by having wrong motives, pride, judging others and boasting about things which man cannot control.

Addressing those who are supposedly spiritually rich James explains that those who do the actual work will reap the spiritual rewards. Pray fervently to God to be healed of all unrighteousness.
