Chapter 1

Paul reminds the Thessalonians that they became followers of the gospel amid much persecution and became examples of faith to everyone in the region who heard about them.

Chapter 2

Paul recalls that his team of ministers didn’t expect the Thessalonians to take care of them, but rather they were there to serve the Thessalonians except that they had to escape from the city for their own safety for a while.

Chapter 3

Paul left Timothy behind to minister to the Thessalonians during his escape to Athens. Timothy gave Paul a good report about their faithfulness in his absence.

Chapter 4

Paul warns against sexual impurity and encourages them to continue in brotherly love. He also addresses what happens to those who die in faith without having a complete resurrection.

Paul contrasts the destruction that comes suddenly on unbelievers with the salvation that comes to believers and encourages them to remain faithful in order to attain that salvation.
